Content and comments

Content

Each post on this blog represent the views of its author(s). Nothing posted here should be taken to represent the views of the School for Policy Studies or the University of Bristol.

Comments policy

All reasonable comments are acceptable. Comments that seek to further the debate instigated by a blogpost are particularly welcome. This can include criticisms of the arguments presented in the original posts or in previous comments in a thread.

Anyone wishing to comment must supply an appropriate email address.

Only in exceptional circumstances, and entirely at our discretion, will anonymous comments be published. We believe that anonymous comments are undesirable because they are generally not conducive to constructive conversation and debate.

All first time commenters will be moderated by one of the team administering the blog. We aim to review comments as quickly as possible, but we are a small team and there may be a delay at busy times.

We request that you comply with the following guidelines when commenting:

  • Comments should not include language that could be considered rude, offensive or otherwise inappropriate.
  • Comments should be directed at the substance of the arguments, not at individuals.
  • Comments should be on-topic
  • Comments should be offered with the aim of developing or qualifying the relevant arguments or fostering constructive dialogue and debate.
  • Comments should not include multiple links. If they do then they will trigger the spam filters.

The blog administrators reserve the right to edit, delete or designate as spam any comments that are deemed not to contribute to maintaining this blog as a place of healthy, respectful and constructive debate.

Commenters who breach these guidelines may be placed on continuous moderation or blocked from commenting entirely.
